It’s a great time of year for some sweet iced tea, so here’s a unique way to share this summer drink with a dozen friends – sweet tea jars!
They are easy to assemble. First purchase some fancy straws and a case of wide mouth canning jars and then add either 3 sugar cubes or a couple of DIY sugar cubes and either a regular tea bag or one made by placing your favorite summer herbal blend in a T-sac. Tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar and then tie on a straw plus the following instructions for brewing and making their own iced tea:
To brew: add 1c boiling water to jar and steep 5 minutes. Remove T-sac and add 1c ice cubes. Enjoy!
DIY SUGAR CUBES
You will need a fancy ice cube tray or candy mold to create fun shapes, some granulated sugar and some water. Combine 1c sugar with water added 1 teaspoon at a time and mix until it forms a paste-like consistency, but doesn’t melt. Fill the tray/mold half full and press tight. Let dry overnight and then carefully remove and enjoy! Try experimenting with combining white and brown sugar or adding a little colored sugar for variation.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
I Peter 4:10
