ARRANGEMENTS

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
I Peter 4:10

Just had to share some pictures from my New Smyrna Beach Garden Club luncheon this week.  The presentation was on Traditional & Creative Arrangements by one of our talented members, Sally Flanagan.

The first arrangement she did, she used the same dried materials and produced 5 different types of designs from a line to this bridge, adding additional materials plus even a light along the way.

Her second arrangement was done entirely of fresh greens and was amazing!

The luncheon theme for the table decorations was “A Valentine Celebration” and 11 women had fun creating their own table displays like these favorites:

My arrangement used the Language of Herbs: rosemary for remembrance, rose-scented geraniums for preference and red pineapple sage flowers for a long life together along with daisies for hope!

These heart shaped Cranberry Pecan Scones and Berry Delight Tea completed my display.

CRANBERRY PECAN  SCONES: Combine 2 c flour, 1/3 c sugar, 1tsp baking powder, 1/4tsp baking soda and 1/4tsp salt in a mixing bowl.  Add 1/4c dried cranberries and 1/4c chopped pecans.  Cut in 8Tbs butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Combine an egg and 1/2c plain yogurt until well blended, and then add to dry ingredients until they are moistened.  Knead on floured surface until dough holds together.  Divide dough in half and pat out each into a 1/2 inch thick circle and cut into 6 wedges (or hearts).  Place on greased baking sheet, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 mins or until golden brown.
