"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth
by your great power and outstretched arm.
Nothing is too hard for you.”
Jeremiah 32:17
Today was “The Beauty of Hope” - our 2nd annual Beautiful You Luncheon. It is a special event hosted by our Women’s Ministry including tables decorated by volunteer hostesses in whatever theme they choose.
I chose to do two tables this year!!
My 1st table’s theme was “The Language of Flowers” and used a lot of daisies which symbolize “hope,”
along with these other flowers and herbs from my garden in the centerpiece:
Borage for courage
Calendula for joy
Lavender for devotion
Nasturtium for victory
Pansy for thoughts of you
Rose Geranium for preference
Rosemary for remembrance
Sage for long life/good health
Violets for faithfulness
The plates even pictured rose-scented geraniums, borage and calendula! The favors of “Friendship Potpourri” also used the language of flowers & herbs.
My 2nd table was all about Cooking with Herbs!
A recipe decorated the rim of the plates, the centerpiece represented the fresh harvest of herbs and the favors included a head of garlic, packets of Classic Herb Blends and some measuring spoons.
Almost 200 women were pampered this year by 30 men who served the 4 course meal, enjoyed 30 beautifully decorated tables and were encouraged by the women who shared their personal journey of “hope” in word and song.
The room looked amazing - here are a few of my favorite tables!
A Tropical Beach Party complete with
Flip-Flops!
Black & White Elegance!
Naturally Recycled Treasures!
A Beach Lover’s Paradise!
Let it Snow!
