October 12th is Cookbook Launch Day and I’d like to introduce my newest booklet – “Tea Time Gatherings.”  This booklet contains four sections: The Tea Tradition, The Tea Table, The Tea Beverage and The Tea Food.  It is packed full of trivia and tips plus a lot of my favorite recipes for any tea gathering!

Here is a sample of the recipes for savories, scones & sweets:
BACON & TOMATO CUPS: Cook 8 slices of bacon until crisp.  Cool and crumble then mix with 1 chopped tomato, 1/2 chopped onion, 3oz shredded Swiss cheese, 1/2c mayonnaise and 1tsp dried basil.  Roll out and cut 1 can of crescent rolls into squares and place in greased mini muffin tins.  Fill with bacon mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 mins or until golden.
BASIC SCONES: Combine 2c flour, 1/3c sugar, 1tsp baking powder, 1/4tsp baking soda and 1/4tsp salt in a mixing bowl.  Cut in 8Tbs butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Combine 1 beaten egg and 1/2c sour cream or plain yogurt until well blended, then add to dry ingredients until they are moistened.  Knead on floured surface until dough holds together.  Divide dough in half, pat each half into a 6” circle 1/2 inch thick and cut into 6 wedges.  Place on greased baking sheet, brush with egg mixture and   sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12 mins or until golden brown.
DEVONSHIRE CREAMBeat 1c whipping cream until just before it turns into butter.  Blend in 1c sour cream, 1/2c powdered sugar and 1tsp vanilla.  Chill and serve with scones & jelly or jam.
FIVE SPICE BALLS: Cream together 2Tbs butter and 2oz cream cheese then beat in 1/2tsp vanilla extract, 1/2lb powdered sugar and 1c coconut.  Roll into ½” balls, roll in 1tsp five spice mixed with 1/2 c powdered sugar, then refrigerate until firm.

Tea Time Gatherings” joins my self-published booklet collection which also includes Soup Herbs” containing information on 16 herbs as well as soup recipes for each and “Edible Flowers” which features my favorite baker’s dozen of sweet & savory flowers along with individual recipes for each.

because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
