2013 BEAUTIFUL YOU LUNCHEON

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"
made his light shine in our hearts
to give us the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay
to show that this all-surpassing power is from God
and not from us
.”
2 Corinthians 4:6-7

“Reflections of Grace” - the 3rd annual Beautiful You Luncheon – was hosted today by the Women’s Ministry at my church.  Each year the tables are decorated by volunteer hostesses in whatever theme they choose using everything from paper plates to fine china and with 30 tables it is always amazing to see the diversity.

Here are a few of my favorites this year!

This year I chose to use my “Beach House Fairy Garden” as the centerpiece of my table which also set the stage for the use of lots of blue and sea shells.  For more information on fairy gardens plus to see how this particular garden has changed a little over the last several months to include rose scented geraniums as palm trees, thyme as a beach shrub and garlic chives as seaside grasses, see this post from an earlier demonstration.

Each woman at my table received a clear container with shell-shaped homemade chocolates plus a mirror and the following verse attached to tie into the overall theme:

And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors
that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord.
And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us,
we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.”

2 Corinthians 3:18

What an amazing day!   Two hundred plus women enjoyed a delicious 4 course Greek menu served by the men and were inspired by the personal testimonies of two incredible sisters and the sufficiency of God’s Grace.
