Oranges are the most popular citrus fruit in the U.S but most Americans consume far more oranges as juice than as fresh fruit. The orange family includes Navel, Valencias, Clementines, Mandarins , Dancys, Minneolas, tangerines and Satsumas.

Orange Spice Body Scrub
1 c sea salt
1/4 c olive oil
1/2tsp ground cinnamon
1/4tsp ground cloves
1/2tsp ground ginger
1tsp ground dried orange peel

Stir together all ingredients until well-mixed then spoon into a clean jar with tight-fitting lid. To use: Before bathing and standing in the tub or shower, massage the mixture all over your body to gently exfoliate and moisturize your skin. Shower or soak in the tub for 15 to 20 minutes, then pat your skin dry and follow with more natural oil or rich body lotion.

Soothing Citrus Bath Blend
1 1/2 c chamomile
1 1/4 c calendula petals
3/4 c jasmine flowers
1 1/4 c lemon balm
1 1/4 c orange peel

Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Use a handful in a bath bag for a calming effect.

The Eureka variety found in any grocery store are well known, but  Meyer lemons which have less acidity have gained great favor, particularly with chefs and foodies, in recent years. Meyer lemons are probably the result of a natural cross between a lemon and an orange, probably a mandarin.

Citrus Scrub
½ cup sugar
½ cup plain yogurt
¼ cup wheat bran
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Mix all ingredients together in an unbreakable container.  Wet your body in a warm shower, and apply the scrub to your legs, arms and torso.  Massage gently into your skin with a circular motion, rinse well, and pat your skin dry.

This citrus scrub contains a variety of alpha hydroxy acid agents: yogurt, lemon and sugar, while bran adds gentle polishing power and the honey is softening and nourishing for your skin.

Citrus Foot Scrub
2lb Dead Sea salts
1lb Epsom salts
1⁄4 cup borax
1 cup olive oil
1⁄3 cup vitamin E
1⁄2lb grated unscented soap
1tsp ground lemon peel
1tsp orange peel, ground
2tsp vitamin C powder

Combine ingredients, mixing well then put into glass jars with a tight-fitting lid.

Attach the following instructions on a gift tag:  Scoop out a handful of the scrub and gently massage into feet, concentrating particularly on rough spots, such as the heels. Rinse feet well and pat dry.
