PUDDIN’ HEAD GINGERBREAD MEN MIX

Today is National Gingerbread Day, so this is a great time to make up these “cookies in a jar” to give to family and friends to make during the Christmas season.  Packaged with directions and a cookie cutter attached, they will provide an evening of enjoyment for everyone!

 
            Layer the following ingredients in a quart wide-mouth canning jar in the following combinations:

 

Bottom Layer:

1 1/4c flour

1pkg instant butterscotch pudding

 

Middle Layer:

3/4c brown sugar

 

Top Layer:

1c flour

1tsp baking soda

2tsp ginger

1/2tsp each cinnamon, allspice

 

Directions: Cream 1/2c butter and 1/4c honey, add 1 egg and then add contents of jar and mix until well blended.  Chill 1 hour.  Roll dough ¼” thick, cut with cookie cutter and place on greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 mins. 

 

Icing: Mix 2c powdered sugar with 2Tbs frozen lemonade concentrate and ice gingerbread men.
