PUMPKIN
· loaded with beta-carotene-rich antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to nourish your skin
· sloughs off dead dull cells for glowing, smooth skin
PUMPKIN-OATMEAL SUGAR SCRUB
1/2c canned pumpkin
1/2c brown sugar
1Tbs rolled oats
1tsp cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a wide-mouth container. Use as scrub to exfoliate your entire body in the shower. Rinse well, pat your skin dry.
PUMPKIN BODY BUTTER
1/2 c pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 c coconut oil
1. Mix ingredients in a bowl.2. Apply generously to clean skin, massaging gently to work well into the skin.
3. Allow to remain on for 10 minutes or so, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.
GINGER
· naturally cleansing & detoxifying agent
GINGER DETOX BATH
1/2c ginger vinegar
1/2c dead sea salt
Run warm bath and add salt and vinegar. Relax and soak for at least 20 mins.
Ginger Vinegar: Combine 3Tbs fresh chopped ginger or 1Tbs dried ginger root and 1c heated apple cider vinegar in a container and let set a few days.
SPICES
· gently warming, stimulating and antibacterial
SWEET SPICE MILK BATH
1tsp each cinnamon, clove, allspice, ginger, cardamom and nutmeg
1c dried milk powder
Combine and store in an airtight container. To use: add 1/2c to a tub full of warm water and soak. Milk baths are soothing and moisturizing to dry, winter skin.
HOLIDAY TEA
2Tbs each red/green rooibos
2Tbs rose hips
2Tbs hibiscus
2Tbs orange peel
1Tbs lemon verbena
1Tbs ginger root
1Tbs cinnamon chips
1Tbs whole cloves
PUMPKIN-GINGER SCONES
Scone Mix
1tsp cinnamon
1Tbs finely chopped crystallized ginger
8Tbs butter
1/2c solid pack pumpkin
1/4c sour cream
1 beaten egg
Place mix in a mixing bowl and add cinnamon & crystallized ginger. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg, pumpkin and sour cream until well blended, then add to dry ingredients until they are moistened. Knead on floured surface until dough holds together. Divide dough in half, pat each half into a 6” circle ½ inch thick and cut into 6 wedges. Place on greased baking sheet, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 mins or until golden brown.
Scone Mix: 2c flour, 1/3c sugar, 1tsp baking powder, 1/4tsp baking soda and 1/4tsp salt
